Indian ink drawings made from Google Maps searches for satellite images of river delta's and other confluence systems.
These works are rendered initially as iPad vector drawings and then made into physical objects on wooden blocks 300 x 300 x 12mm or on paper in various sizes.
These images are reminiscent of shadow ghosts, fossilised remains and even rorschach tests. The title's are coordinates of the geo-location so the original source and surrounding area's can be investigated further. The above image derives from a location in northern Argentina very close to the border with Chile and Bolivia. This area is of great commercial interest. It is surrounded by nature reserves and we are beginning to see the scars of Lithium mining and subsequent evaporation ponds.
